A Canadian and British citizen, born in St. John, Canada in 1942. He studied physics and mathematics at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver. Between 1979 and 1983 Evelyn studied painting and printmaking at the Academy of Design and Music in Bremen, Germany.
After Graduating he deepened his knowledge of printmaking by taking part in various advanced workshops at the Franz Masereel Centrum in Kasterlee, Belgium, the Rijks Hoger Kunstonderwijs in Brussels and a post graduate MA study at the Wimbledon School of Art in London, England. Since 1983 Angelo Evelyn has worked and exhibited in Quebec, Western Europe, and Scandinavia.
In 1990 he taught at the Academy of Fine Arts in Trondheim, Norway, and was a guest lecturer in 1999 and 2000 at the Ecole des Arts decoratifs in Strasbourg, France.
He established in 1998 with two German art colleagues in Eichstatt, Bavaria, an international stone lithography studio where invited foreign and German artists can take part in an artist-in-residence program.
